When Amy and her mother found themselves without a home, bouncing between unstable and sometimes dangerous living situations, it felt like hope was slipping through their fingers. From enduring a police raid on her 19th birthday to her mom’s hospitalization from a spider bite and MRSA, and finally being kicked out by a sister struggling with her own pain, Amy was left physically exhausted, emotionally broken, and spiritually drained. With nowhere else to turn, she started searching for affordable housing—but without proper documents, transportation, or support, even that seemed out of reach.

Then a friend told her about Love INC. From the moment Amy walked into the office, she felt something shift. “Before even talking to anyone, I felt at peace,” she said. Love INC immediately stepped in—not just with kindness, but with action. They helped her navigate mountains of housing paperwork, provided transportation to get critical documents, and surrounded her and her mother with support. More than that, they mobilized a network of churches to pray for them. Against all odds, Amy was offered an apartment in the Billie Brown Building—something that normally had a five-year waitlist.

But the help didn’t stop there. When moving in, Love INC provided furniture, clothing, food, and even a reclining chair for Amy’s mom, who couldn’t sleep lying down. Amy was given a bed—her first in three years. They also connected her with a money management class, equipping her to build a sustainable future. Through it all, Amy saw more than just assistance; she experienced love, dignity, and the light of Christ during her darkest days.

Today, Amy is thriving. She’s living in a safe, peaceful home, attending Bible college online, and teaching Sunday school at her church. Looking back, she believes she might not have survived without Love INC. “They never knew just how depressed I was back then,” she wrote. “But they saved me by showing me that little glimmer of hope and a lot of love and kindness.” Amy’s story is a testimony to the life-changing power of community, compassion, and faith in action.
